Job Duties:

Fashion Trends Update

• Conduct market trend research through retail shopping, magazines, runways, social media and trade show and present to suppliers for product development.
• Close contact with the Designers in Paris for discussion of next collection direction and review the trend boards periodically.
• Work closely with merchandising team for preparing fashion trends presentation and collection theme boards.
• Follow up whole process of the development from themes and concept, presentation of styling, sketches, fitting session.

Sourcing for New Suppliers and Fabric

• Attend fabric fair in Hong Kong or other regionsregulary to understand new trends for fabric
• Sourcing new supplier, especially for new techniques or strong ability for picking supplier.
• Visit new supplier and fabric mill when necessary.
• Understand the price knowledge of different fabric.
• Maintain and keep update the fabric database.

Sample Picking Preparation

• Sent trends to relevant suppliers and explain all details to supplier to ensure supplier can well understand the trends.
• Closely follow up the status with the supplier for picking sample.
• Visit suppliers or factories to check picking sample status with designer after trends send out to supplier 2-3 weeks.
• Work out or check price with merchandisers together for 1st sample selection.
• Keep update with the sample status to Paris for picking per agreed time frame.

Picking Trip Arrangement

• Check with Paris for picking trip plan of each season.
• Ensure supplier can well prepare of picking sample before picking trip.
• Well organize of picking trip schedule among the company, suppliers and Paris.
• Follow up all comments which made by Paris, give support to buyer and merchandiser for price negotiation.
• Follow up modified sample and ensure supplier can send out sample on time.
• Send all selected picking sample to France on time in terms of agreed picking process. Also filter and send lab-dips, strike off, prints and embroideries to Paris for approval.
• Follow up all comments from Paris after sample review.
• Work with the technologist team for any technical issues of picking style.
• Ensure all price /ETD are collect before purchase order confirm to supplier.
• Update all development stages and information into internal system on time.

Qualifications:  

• Degree/Diploma holder in fashion design or related disciplines.
• 5 years of relevant experience in fashion design and development for French market and specialized in ladies items.
• Fast fashion sense preferred.
• Knowledge of materials, product construction, price formula.
• Self-motivated, creative and talented in fashion design with enthusiastic for new aspirations.
• Pro-active, open-minded, hardworking and able to work under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong presentation skill and fashion sense.
• Can work independently, showing sign of autonomy.
• Proficient in design software such as Photoshop, Illustrator and other related software.
• Good at free hand drawing.
• Good command of spoken and written English.Knowledge of French is a plus.
• Frequent travel (China, India and Bangladesh) is required.
