Job Description:

The Triumph’s Innovation Department in Hong Kong is looking for an accomplished Technical Designer with a high level of energy and passion for innovation.  The ideal candidate has an open mind, natural curiosity and a positive can do attitude, which drives a desire to develop new solutions.   

The Senior Technical Designer has a responsibility for coordination and execution of Innovation’s concept collection of bras, shapewear and activewear for both Triumph and Sloggi brands for Global Asian and Western Fit.  The candidate must have a strong knowledge of technical fit, garment construction and materials.  As a Technical Designer in the Innovation team, you will have a broad range of tasks including:

Responsibilities:

  • Create all patterns and oversee development of prototypes; follow up new style and pad developments.  Development of new cups and pads.
  • Preparation of fitting, CQA testing of materials and documents related to patterns for sewing and costings
  • Settle fitting and workmanship issues; Be a proactive problem solver and discuss with the team any concerns that need to clarity
  • Give direction the sewing  and cutting team in the development of concept prototypes
  • Ensure bulk feasibility of Innovation products; maintain garment quality on new production technology
  • Assist Brand & Design Manager in preparation of presentation garments and tools
  • Participate in seasonal GAF Design & Brand presentations related to innovation developments
  • Regularly research and experiment with new sewing methods, workmanship and patternmaking techniques
  • Keep Innovation Department Head informed of all ongoing developments, through regular meetings and interaction.  Bring awareness to the team of any issues on a timely basis.
  • Travel and Business trips to suppliers based in China, tradeshows, and market visits

Qualifications:

  • 10 years or more experience in Intimate Apparel as a Senior Technical Designer in bra patternmaking, fitting and grading
  • Fluent in English.  Mandarin is a plus
