Fusion Systems is seeking an Application Support - Python Developer to provide on-site investment bank application support for Raptor, our ultra-low-latency market access and risk management platform. 

The position will transition from initial core operational, release and test support functions with the aim to improve and develop automated application support and testing tools. 

The position is suited to an individual with previous Front Office experience and local capital market familiarity together with strong Linux skills and scripting language proficiency.

Positions are open in Hong Kong and Tokyo.  

Requirements

- A minimum of 1-2 years of practical experience in a UNIX environment 

- Previous investment banking Front Office support or related experience

- Strong Python proficiency including client-server socket development, object oriented methodology, native python and foreign ctypes function libraries

- Strong UNIX skills including ability to analyze/parse log files using utilities such as grep, awk, sed

- Strong UNIX-based text editor skills such as vi,emacs

- Solid understanding of software life-cycle phases including development, testing, release and maintenance

- Strong English verbal and written communication skills

- Working knowledge of ticketing and issue tracking systems

- A teamwork attitude and ability to maintain a professional demeanor when resolving support issues

Desirable

- Database querying languages such as Sqlite, mysql

- Familiarity with Python ORMS technologies

- Version control tools such as git, mercurial

- Trading protocol familiarity such as FIX, OUCH, OM

- Financial instrument trade flow familiarity

- Perl and Shell scripting experience
