Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Develop scope and planning for ongoing E-business program delivery via a phased and iterative approach
  • Design a delivery model & team structure that enables effective concurrent delivery of multiple program phases across multiple geographies
  • Manage the effective and planned delivery of the Asia Pacific E-business Program portfolio that aligns with the strategic profitable growth direction and objectives of the region
  • Guide resources and project teams to look for innovative solutions that seek to accelerate the implementation of the IT strategy and capabilities to enable delivery of overall business targets
  • Overseeing regular program reporting including the reporting on schedule, budget, scope, quality, risks, issues, dependencies, team, stakeholders and benefits for both country management and AP Executive management
  • Planning and ongoing management of governance committees for E-Business program
  • Work in tandem with Internal and External Audit to ensure E-business program delivery is effectively managed, of high quality and aligned with QBE governance processes
  • Facilitate eBusiness Steering Committee and assist with eBusiness Platfom benefits delivery tracking
  • Effective management of resources to drive resolution of identified E-business Program/project issues and risks. Gain Executive & stakeholder buy-in that risks and issues are effectively mitigated within desired tolerance levels
  • Ability to provide leadership and guidance to multi-disciplined (business & IT) program teams including clear and consistent communications that align with the goals of the CIO, the Head of Business Transformation and the broader Asia Pacific Executive
  • Ability to effectively manage key internal and external relationships remotely
  • Work as key Business Transformation team member and align with peers to drive a high performance culture within the Asia Pacific IT and Transformation functions
  • Mentor and coach functional reports to enhance performance of program team. Provide timely and effective feedback and look for value-adding performance improvement opportunities for team members within the program

Requirements:

  • Extensive years experience in a Project Management function and in General Insurance
  • Proven track record in design and delivery of digital technology
  • 5+ years experience in the Software Development Life Cycle (SLDC)
  • Experience working with remote teams
  • Experience with vendor management, core system replacement programs, data migration and e-business programs
  • Experience with Insurance Agents, Brokers, Bancassurance/Affinity
  • Coaching and mentoring capabilities to all levels of staff
  • Program and Project management including budget, scope, benefit, schedule, risk/issue and team management skills
  • Strong Communication and stakeholder management skills and vendor management skills
  • Financial Management and Budgeting experience
  • Strong knowledge of SDLC, program/project management processes and project prioritization, scope management and scheduling processes and tools
  • Awareness on developing IT trends (e-business, delivery models, new technology concepts etc)
