The quality engineer has responsibility for quality inspection and go/no go decision on electronic components and finished goods. They manage the inspection process and insure that proper actions are being taken to screen for part quality/ counterfeit and conformity. Finally, they manage the use of inspection tools and equipment.

 Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

 1)    Overall responsibility for go/ no go decision on product based on results of incoming inspection. Conducts inspection on all inbound devices in conjunction with warehouse receiving team. Makes counterfeit inspection. Reports results to Quality, Warehouse, and Commodity Managers.

2)    Responsible for continuous improvement of processes related to product inspection and the training of those processes. Responsible for insuring processes are followed.

3)    Responsible for learning and disseminating information relating to quality and counterfeiting of parts and developing and implementing new methods to identify.

4)    Responsible for maintaining control of all inspection processes.

5)    Provide support to customers when any quality issues arise; prepares corrective action and follow up on implementation and close out.

6)    Responsible for maintaining ISO 9001:2000 certification, ESD 20/20 certification, and other certifications deemed necessary.

7)    Provide metrics related to inspection results; provide input to the vendor rating system based on inspection results.

8)    Provide monthly updates on activities and improvements made on processes.

9)    Work with the Warehouse Manager to further strengthen and improve inspection processes with a goal of zero defects

10)Suggest improvements in workflow and equipment to make inspection more efficient and effective.

This position requires someone who with min 3 years of progressive quality experience with a background in electronics. Experience with electronic components and finished goods required. Must have at least a higher diploma in electrical engineering , demonstrated record of success, strong communication skills, and good command of quality tools and equipment with an electronics environment.
