Responsibilities

As part of Infrastructure and Technical team, the DevOps engineer will build, automate and manage the infrastructure for Java based application. The DevOps engineer will also be responsible for providing both the systems expertise and script coding skills to support the architecture, design, automation, deployment and monitoring of our solutions and services. This is a hands-on position and reports to the IT Infrastructure & Technical Manager:

• Develop, test, setup and manage software building, testing and deployment automation for java based application in both legacy and cloud based environment
• Work closely with the development, test automation and operation teams to realize continuous delivery and deployment
• Work closely with the project teams to translate technology direction into DevOps actionable activities
• Troubleshoot critical incidents and problems involving the automation
• Develop and update process book related to the automation
• Support the product management plan/scope definition for future releases.
• Provide solutions to meet business needs in the DevOps context and consider the costs and risks associated with each solution
• Design and develop proof of concept prototypes for infrastructure initiatives that support business growth in terms of scalability, stability, accessibility, and system redundancy
• Administer and support the DevOps infrastructure

Requirements

• Experienced and familiar with the different tool associated with DevOps
• Container orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Mesos, or Swarm)
• Continuous integration/delivery tools (Jenkins, Drone, Teamcity, etc)
• Deployment strategy (blue/green, canary, rolling, draining)
• Source code management (Git) and branching workflow patterns
• Change configuration tools, (Chef, Puppet, Salt, or CFEngine3)
• Experienced in scalable applications environments (12-factor, micro-services, immutable production)
• Experienced with Apache Tomcat and IBM WebSphere
• Programming/Scripting Skills (Bash, Perl, Python, Java) and knowledge of OOP design patterns
• BA/BS degree or equivalent experience; Computer Science or Math background preferred.
• 2+ years of experience as DevOps Engineer
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Mandarin
• Able to travel occasionally to Shanghai, India and France
• Must be dynamic and able to work independently, with ability to work effectively across organizations
