Job Description

General Merchandising Duties:

• Arranging all aspects of merchandising. From item selection, quotation, ordering, shipping. Ensuring best standards of customer care and managing factory to minimise delays and errors.

• Presentation of shipping documents for payment to relevant bank against Letter of Credit, open account etc.

• All general office administration relating to the Hong Kong office. Emailing, answering telephone calls, opening of mail etc. Basic invoicing and record keeping using excel.

• Completion of forms as necessary for customers or arranging for factories to complete necessary documentation.

• Liaising with the factories regarding specific requirements for customers orders i.e. labelling, packaging etc.

•Work with QC Dept to ensure all items are tested and safe and have up to date documentation.

• Providing Factories with clear and specific instructions for customers orders.

• Ongoing checks with factories to ensure special instructions are being carried out.

• Assisting with the Arrangement of pre shipment inspections/audits etc.

• Arranging samples for QC evaluation to customers

• Dealing with customers Hong Kong/China offices regarding their requirements and procedures

• Supporting the smooth process of all orders and helping with new product development.

• To maintain invoicing and order status reports for management scrutiny.

• Handle simple accounting functions including invoicing and account payable.

• Upkeep databases, spreadsheets to allow free flow of information to accounts team.

• General office admin support as required.

 

This role will be approx. 70% Merchandising with 30% Administration and junior accounting. (invoicing and updating spreadsheets for management and accounts teams).

Company Info

A HK sourcing and sales office in the TOY industry. We source and buy most of our products from China.

We do both generic and licensed products and we have several Patented items. We also work to source and develop OEM products for our customers.

 

Our main market is the UK and Europe. We also sell to Australia, North and South America and Asia.

Our customer base is extensive. In the UK we deal with all the major retailers, department stores, supermarkets as well as the independent toy trade. Worldwide, we either use distributors or large retailers in the local markets.

We are based in TST East and our office has a team of 7 people currently.

We manage the QC, shipping and merchandising function from here.
