Job Description:

• To undertake day to day technical duties at SKU level, providing technical advice to merchandisers to ensure products comply with UK and European law.
• Liaise with suppliers and ‘test houses’ to ensure all relevant products are tested appropriately and to keep abreast of latest UK legislation.
• Evaluate samples and recommend improvements to ensure products are safe and ‘Fit for Purpose’
• Skilled to undertake inspections
• Fully accountable for the quality, safety, integrity and legal compliance of products within assigned area of responsibility.
• Working closely with Colleagues and Technologists understanding of the product category, ensuring all quality safety legal and brand integrity requirements are met.
• Ensure all product specifications (with test certification/material safety data sheets as appropriate) and supplier documentation are accurately maintenance and regularly reviewed for validity.
• Monitor and measure supplier compliance through effective analysis of audits/visits, KPI’s and complaints.
• Effective management and closure of product incidents to agreed timescales. Ensure all lines hit launch date for technical and quality criteria, as per critical path
• To undertake in-process and pre-shipment inspections and incoming goods QC checks
• To carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by your line manager. 

Education & Experience Required:

• 3 years Technical experience with an European buying / sourcing office.
• Self-motivated individual with high level of integrity
• Excellent attention to detail with good planning and organisational skills.
• Experience in a broad range of Hardline consumer products. With recent knowledge of these product standards, legal requirements and manufacturing Technology and the ability to apply this in a commercial setting.
• Detailed knowledge of product labelling & testing requirements for the UK Independent and self-motivated
• Quality Systems and Social Compliance auditing experience.
• The ability to work in a small team
• Excellent spoken and written English & Mandarin is essential.
