Job Description

Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) is recruiting a Digital Fundraising Assistant. This position will take up duties arise from online donor acquisition, donor retention and engagement activities. The incumbent's role is to identify and carry out digital fundraising making use of all possible opportunities that may arise through various promotional and programs’ activities, and, whenever any digital initiative is planned, to integrate other fundraising activities into the digital campaign.

This position is a UNOPS position with a contract which is renewable each calendar year.

 

Requirements and experience:

  • Degree holder in communications, social sciences, marketing and/or advertising.  Candidates with a degree in other disciplines with a proven relevant professional record will be accepted;
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience on the development and implementation of fundraising and online communications strategies;
  • Professional experience within the non-profit sector or international institutions as an asset;
  • Experience of running online acquisition campaigns through banner advertising, affiliates;
  • Knowledge of email marketing, search engine marketing, digital tracking and analytics;
  • Proven experience in online income generation and the development of online fundraising and/or marketing strategies as an asset;
  • Experience in online content management (web and blogs), active management of social networks;
  • High command of Chinese and English, spoken and written.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Design, execution and overseeing of a long term competent and innovating strategy, to increase traffic to the official web and the social media networks including Facebook, Weibo and Twitter;
  • Edit and manage the website content as well as the implementation of marketing and fundraising campaign initiatives;
  • Ensure the agency maximizes the use of digital and TV channels and that these tools are integrated where appropriate;
  • Provide support to ensure online media coverage for the agency;
  • Work closely with other overseas offices, the external communications agencies and with local and international offices to ensure the total integration of the online fundraising within the organization’s planning, ensure a fluent and continuous external communications through social networks and the maximization of value of donors/supporters;
  • Undertake the coordination of fundraising events and recruit and coordinate with volunteers as required;
  • Support fundraising related administration work;
  • Any other responsibilities as delegated by the supervisor(s).
