Job Description

QUALIFICATION:  

  • Polytechnic / IVE graduate in Merchandising, Garments, Textile or related discipline
  • 8 years solid experience in sourcing sportswear products independently
  • Experiences in US buying office is essential
  • Effective oral and written communication skills in both English and Chinese, proficient in Mandarin
  • Mature, independent, detail-minded, initiative, stable with good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Candidates with less experience will be considered as Merchandiser

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Sourcing: to support to formulate and execute the short /term sourcing strategy to support the needs and growth of the Company.  
  • Costing: to review cost sheets and conduct initial negotiations with vendors and check the accuracy of costs within the cost sheets; creates cost scenarios in M1 and maintains this system in the area of costing.   Create and update sourcing tracking report to share with US sourcing team for margin calculation.   And to communicate with home office sourcing team to maintain the information.
  • To manage the product development till bulk production are in line with development/bulk buy calendar.
  • To be responsible and lead the Merchandiser/Assistant Merchandiser to follow up costing, product development and bulk production as well as payment in a timely fashion, and ensure first quality.
  • To work closely with trims and fabric team to keep track trims development/approval.
  • Vendor Management: to support and maintain strategic vendor relationship.
  • To keep abreast of the market information and to share with HQ Sourcing counter-part periodically, e.g. trade news, offshore news on prices on material, labor as well as competitors’ activities and vendors’ capabilities...etc.
  • To work collaboratively with QA team to download product specification/discussion from product development to production; and production issue resolutions.
  • To be the problem solver for the team and business partner with respective counter parts in HQ.
  • To communicate manufacturing issues to senior and support for identifying root causes and work for resolution proactively.
  • To support of EEM and training to vendors to ensure smooth operation. 
  • To act as liaison between appointed manufacturing facilities and the Under Armour Hong Kong and HQ concerning all development and production related issues.
  • To assist/support in review the monthly buy reports, forecast and capacity planning with manufacturing facilities.
  • Other duties assigned as needed.
