Job Description: Finance Director

Location: Hong Kong / Salary: circa HKD$650,000 p.a. depending on experience

SportsDirect.com (Asia) Limited is the newly established division of the Sports Direct International Plc Group.  Looking to replicate their success in the EMEA region, the new division is looking to recruit a Financial Director.

SportsDirect.com is the UK’s largest sporting goods retailer by revenue. We are proud to operate a diverse portfolio of sports, fitness, fashion and lifestyle retail fascia’s throughout Europe, the U.S and Malaysia and are looking to expand on our success across Asia. We aspire to be a leading sports and lifestyle retailer internationally and need committed and capable candidates to help us achieve our long term strategy.

We are currently searching for a Finance Director to join us in our Hong Kong Division. Working as a Finance Director you would be required to liaise with our Group Finance department in the UK. 

Key Aspects of this role:

• Reporting directly to our Asia Pacific region head you will develop, innovate and lead our financial strategy for the Asia Pacific region
• Management of all Sports Direct (Asia) Limited’s (SDA) financial processes
• To manage regional brand licensing finances with the Licensing Managers and Licensing partners.
• To provide support for future M&A activities SDA may enter into
• To support establishing Supply Chain Management activities in the AP region 
• Conduct regular communications/meetings with our HO finance teams to ensure global consistency where viable
• Liaise with all departments within the SDA business to provide financial support and direction
• The management , planning, controlling and reporting of allocated budgets

Essential Skills / Experience:

• The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years’ experience working in a similar environment and able to oversee multiple projects to a high standard
• Proficient individual with a strong financial background, ideally  in the brand/retail industry but not a necessity
• Innovative
• Have good focus and talent to develop the role
• Good understanding of analytics and presenting reports to the business heads for continued development
• Excellent attention to detail
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Be able to demonstrate previous experience implementing and maintaining projects
• Fluent in English (reading and writing)
• Able to speak a variety of languages an advantage

• Good time management, with an ability to prioritise
• Possess excellent communication skills: written and verbal
• Competent in Microsoft Office/Word/Excel and any relevant accounting software packages
