The Position – Senior Account Manager

The successful applicant for this position will be responsible for overseeing and growing a team of Account Managers, Senior Fund Accountants, and Fund Accountants involved in the areas of Offshore Hedge/Mutual Funds NAV calculation, shareholder reporting and compliance. The individual will maintain the client relationship; take responsibility for the co-ordination of regulatory reporting, audit preparation, review and timely delivery. They will be involved with marketing for new business along with the take-on and due diligence requirements of the company. This is an exciting role for someone who is determined to get involved in all aspects of fund administration.

The Role

• To ensure timely and accurate NAV calculations are prepared, reviewed and delivered on a daily, weekly or monthly basis along with any other client specific reporting requirements.
• Operational onboarding of new and take on funds and ensure everything has been prepared prior to the launch and take on date – bank and broker access, set-up in the accounting system, etc.
• Solving operational problems encountered by staff on a day to day basis as well as making complex decision making.
• Attendance in client meetings both at onboarding and launched stages.
• Staff development training and monitoring and completion of KRAs.
• Ongoing development of the business by liaising with the senior management and ensuring full communication from bottom up and implementation of new processes and controls as required.
• Ongoing Implementation and refinement of SSAE 16 controls.
• Ensuring client enquiries are answered in accordance with Apex service standards on an ongoing basis. 
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and other requirements of the funds specifications.
• Detailed review of NAV calculations for Hedge Funds and Offshore Funds.
• Experience of AML/KYC reviews for new subscriptions.
• Processing and review of subscriptions and redemptions and share registry functions.
• Authorisation of payments via bank portals.
• Preparation and review of financial statements as required annually.
• Supervision and training and recruitment of accounting staff.
• Ability to deal with auditors (external and internal) and manage and respond to audit queries.
• Experienced in FATCA data accumulation as well as the new CRS reporting requirements.
• Planning and organising workload and helping prioritization of deliverables.
• Ensuring best practice are adopted and improving processes to gain efficiencies. 

The Skills

• 7-8 years experience in fund accounting in either a Private Equity Fund or Private Equity Fund Administrator.
• A professional designation such a C.A., C.P.A., or C.F.A. etc., would be an asset.
• Preferably with working rights in Australia.
• Strong PC skills including Word, Excel (Experience on Paxus and/ or Efront an advantage).
• An ability to work to and meet agreed deadlines.
• Attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communications skills.
