Job Description

The successful candidate will be part of the Risk Policy and Strategy team focused on clearing risk management and regulatory initiatives for Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing. He / She is expected to:
 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Strategically analyze international, regional and domestic regulatory and industry initiatives related to central clearing that may impact the HKEX clearing risk management framework (including related stakeholders, such as international and domestic exchange/clearing members, supervisors, etc.).
  • Provide risk policy recommendations supported by analysis, research and benchmarking against market best practices as well as regulatory developments.
  • Lead and support clearing risk management initiatives across HKEX CCPs including planning and coordination of project tasks.
  • Identify areas where efficiencies and improvements of existing risk policies, including capital and collateral savings for clearing members and market participants.
  • Formulate and draft policies and procedures as necessary pertaining to risk management measures.
  • Communicate effectively on risk management to both internal and external stakeholders.
 
Requirements:
 
  • University degree, preferably in risk management, finance and/or economics (or related field of study).
  • Holder of relevant professional qualification, preferably MBA, MS in Finance, FRM or CFA.
  • At least 5 years’ relevant experience in policy, regulatory analysis and/or credit risk (or related role) at a financial institution or CCP.
  • Experience that includes interaction/analysis of international/regional CCPs or a clearing-related role is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of and experience with international regulatory standards that concern central clearing and CCPs is an advantage (e.g., Financial Stability Board, CPMI and IOSCO, Basel Committee on Banking Supervision or related regulations such as Dodd-Frank Act and/or European Markets Infrastructures Regulations).
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Self-starter highly motivated and must be team oriented with the ability to work in a fast paced environment with a strong delivery focus.
  • Good project management and meticulous attention to details.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
