Job Description

The Project Portfolio Management (PPM) Team of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (“HKEX”) Group is responsible for constructing strategic project portfolio, properly aligning project investment with the strategic goals and the risk appetite of HKEX Group.  The PPM team is overseeing the selection of projects in the portfolio and project execution/delivery.  The PPM team is a key sponsor of Business Analysis and Project Management skill development in HKEX Group.


Job Responsibilities
The selected candidate will join this dynamic team, under the Group Strategy Department, and will be responsible for the project portfolio management related activities. The role will have great exposure to both business strategy and detailed executions, interacting with functional teams across the organization.


Key activities include:


  • Responsible for the operational activities of project portfolio management, including key processes across project life cycle (project prioritization and  budgeting, project initiation, status monitoring, project financial tracking, and project closure)
  • Conduct data mining and analysis of project and portfolio data, to facilitate, support and influence senior management’s decision-making processes
  • Collaborate with project managers and project teams across the organisation to ensure that they follow the defined project management standards, processes of the Group
  • Identify and develop project/portfolio management metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) as well as implement and improve the project and portfolio management tools, processes and platform
  • Answer any project portfolio management related enquiries from other divisions
  • Support BA/PM skill development for different levels of the organisation

 
Requirements
  • University degree, preferably in Finance/Business and/or Information Technology related subject
  • At least 3 years’ working experience in management consulting firm, technology provider or financial institution, practicing project management and/or program management
  • Good knowledge and understanding to the full project life cycle (from Feasibility Study, Planning/Estimation, Initiation, Delivery, Closure to post Delivery Review) and project governance structure; with hands-on experiences in business analysis, risk/issue management, status monitoring and reporting
  • With analytical and process-oriented mindset and strong problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skill required
  • Highly self-motivated, able to work independently and under pressure, adaptable and flexible to fast-paced work environment
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (particularly Excel and PowerPoint) and MS Sharepoint
  • Good command of written and spoken English, with proficiency in Putonghua an advantage
  • Professional project management certification not mandatory but an advantage
