Responsibilities:

• Assist the Operations Manager in a variety of vessel operations tasks including the confidence to make decisions during periods of leave or travel
• Ordering bunkers and collection of bunker market information.
• Maintain internal database system with latest data and produce statistical reports for management
• Verifying proforma and final disbursement accounts for Manager’s approval.
• Perform necessary calculations such as bunker, hire payments, etc.
• Handling of marine insurance claims
• Collaborate closely with Documentation Department to ensure the workflow of all kinds of shipping activities are performed efficiently and effectively.
• Handle full set of shipping documents including Bs/L and freight payments, issue vessel / voyage instructions to master port agents, tally and other related parties.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
  
  

Requirements:

• Degree holder
• Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in an operations role, bulk carriers/dry bulk commodities sector; more experience highly valued
• A confident self-starter and an ability to work independently
• Flexible with excellent inter-personal and communications skills
• Cross-cultural experience & skills in an international environment highly valued
• Highly proficient in using MS Office application; detail orientated
• Fluent in English. French would be an advantage
• Able to travel at short notice
