We are interested in identifying suitable candidates to fill positions in bond sales activities.

Job Responsibilities

Generally, the bond sales manager will have hands-on relationships with counterparts in bond sales and trading activities.  Such counterparts are likely to be investment banks and broking firms which are active in the bond issue primary market and bond trading in the secondary market.  The bond sales manager will supervise the junior sales staff, with the aim of building up a self-sufficient team to provide current bond prices/yields to customers who are interested in investing in and trading bonds.

• Report to the RO/head of securities trading
• Work in a team of 2, to run the daily routine in bond sales which includes:  preparing a daily list of bonds with current prices/yields for investors;  commenting on the bond market investment opportunities, factors affecting demand and supply, new issues
• Obtain investor orders
• Execute investor orders in the fixed income space (OTC market participants, bond traders)
• Provide market intelligence, including new issue calendar
• Keep updated with macro economics which affect the bond market
• Keep abreast with benchmark issues, ratings, yields, and corporate action relevant to the bond market
• Active management of dealing inquiries / requests and support to internal and external clients outside of regular office hours
• Represent the Company in the professional bond trading community (counterparties, brokers, bankers, special interest groups, etc.)
• Clients are serviced in a professional, reliable and friendly manner with high quality service delivery, always in compliance with requirements for product and risk suitability
• Good understanding of settlement mechanics
• Establish good working relationships with external market participants (new issue syndicates, book-runners, market makers, bond proprietary traders

Essential Skills/ Experience

• Degree holder with at least 3 years of relevant experience in bond sales/trading; less experience will be consider as Junior Bond Sales
• Experience in private banking is an advantage
• Language:  English and Chinese
• Fluent in Putonghua is essential
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to prioritise tasks

• Can work independently
• HKMA / SFC licensed for RA1 and RA4
