Job Description

Our client is an expanding Chinese developer engaged in the development of residential mixed use urban developments in China and Australia. Due to an increase in development projects they are looking for a Development Manager to join their team based in Hong Kong.

 

Major Duties

  • To evaluate, recommend and implement land acquisition strategies on each project; and to conduct planning and development feasibilities; and to manage the implementation of each of the building projects with emphasis on coordinating profitability/risks, internal needs, site identification, corporate image, financial evaluation, and regulatory compliance and facilities requirements.
  • To supervise the design management over the external design consultants engaged by our company from time to time from inception to completion covering all projects so assigned to the incumbent as the respective job-in-charge.
  • To conduct periodic supervision on the workmanship, quality and as designed details against the literal as-built samples and finished works.
  • To conduct timely tendering, requests for quotations (RFQ), requests for expressions of interests (RFEOI) as well as formal tenders and biddings as required by the respective projects.
  • To conduct supervision in all aspects of time-management, cost effectiveness, and quality especially to the extent of the minute details in the samples, mock-up, construction samples as well as the final finished products.
  • To undertake project management and design management over the projects in Hong Kong and overseas as well as those situated within Mainland China as where and when required by the Management.
  • To take on the duties and tasks in escorting company guests to visit typical reference sites and/or development sites (on-going projects under construction and/or finished), existing buildings and properties.
  • To undertake all tasks and assume all duties and responsibilities that could be reasonably implied or expressly mentioned by supervising staff members from time to time.
  • To undertake professional valuations on all properties, assets as well as landed interests, which are situated either in Hong Kong and/or Mainland China and/or overseas as assigned by Management from time to time.
  • To acquire all necessary cross-disciplinary skills and knowledge for which both in house and external trainings are provided from time to time.
  • To attend project co-ordination meetings and prepare timely progress reports to Management.

 

Location

  • You are required to work in our Hong Kong headquarters office; and may be required from time to time travel to overseas and other cities of China where the Group has projects

 

Requirements

  • Degree holder or equivalent in planning, surveying and/or architecture or equivalent, with no less than 10 years’ relevant experience plus corporate memberships to the relevant professional institutes.
  • Minimum 10 years relevant experience in the field of property development
  • Good contacts and relations with internal and external parties including relevant government departments and consultants.
  • Business-minded, performance-driven, results-oriented and able to meet or exceed stringent targets and customer expectations.
  • Good command of English, Cantonese and Putonghua
