Job Description
OFFICE OF SERVICE-LEARNING
Senior Project Fellow (Ref. 17102702)
[Appointment period: twelve to eighteen months initially, with possibility of further appointment]
Duties
The appointee will assist the project leader in the project - “Cross-institutional capacity building for service-learning in Hong Kong higher education institutions”. He/She will be required to:
(a) provide expert advice on the development of e-Learning modules, including academic input on the content of the modules;
(b) oversee and monitor the planning, coordination and implementation of the project and the associated sub-projects;
(c) assist in data analysis and writing up the reports;
(d) supervise project staff; and
(e) perform any other duties as assigned by the project leader or his/her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
(a) a recognised doctoral degree in Education, Psychology, Statistics or other related disciplines with at least six years of relevant postdoctoral research experience;
(b) a deep understanding on the theory and practices of service-learning in higher education;
(c) an outstanding level of academic achievement as well as a substantial record and reputation as a researcher;
(d) the ability to supervise staff and conduct activities such as collaborative service-learning projects and multi-institutional collaboration; and
(e) excellent communication and interpersonal skills in working with people at different levels in a university setting.
Preference will be given to those with service-learning experience in universities.
