The Assistant Manager, Technology Research is responsible for working with all relevant parties, both internal and external to perform technology research on IT architecture solutions per strategic direction from executive management of IT.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Spearhead and manage the evaluation and proof of concept test for strategic IT Initiatives to increase company’s technological edge and help drive cost reduction or revenue increment
• Works in a consultative fashion with other relevant IT members, to drive for the implementation of strategic IT architecture solutions with seamless integration to existing operations and systems
• Manage and perform research and case studies on leading edge technologies and makes compile research reports, technologies comparison result
• Maintain current information about technology standards and compliance regulations
• Manage and perform research on current enterprise-wide technology system design, technology stack and standard, IT architecture solutions
• Responsible for overall administration of any process related to IT architecture solutions

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• Exceptional project management and organization skills
• solid experience with Cloud computing including Amazon AWS and etc
• 5+ years hands-on exposure to IT operations, IT security/compliance/audit, infrastructure or application systems, or IT architecture

Education

• BS in related field and at least 5+ years experience in the Information Technology arena

Skills / Competencies

• Strong and technical in Cloud computing such as Amazon AWS, EC2, VPC, Direct Connect and etc
• Able to be a technology evangelist and an advocate to contemporary technology. Embrace innovative technology and collaborate with others to take the technology to the center stage for business. Entrepreneurial thinking
• Able to pick up technical details of new technology, infrastructure and application systems
• Solid and diverse skills in any one aspect of infrastructure, application development, system designs, and IT architecture
• Be a team player. Quick adapt to change. Strong analytical mind
• Ability to communicate effectively in both Cantonese and English
• Strong writing and presentation skills in English
