About this position

Are you a developer with a strong eye for design? Do you appreciate color, balance and scale as much as you do HTML, CSS, PHP and JavaScript?

We are seeking a front-end developer who understands, enjoys and has strong, hands-on experience working on UI/UX for a global company. You will be the technical and creative force behind ELEVATE’s websites that communicate the ELEVATE brand, deliver relevant content, drive lead and sales generation, and meet established KPIs.

You will be based in our Hong Kong office in Causeway Bay and a key member of our Marketing and Communications team.

Here’s what you get to do

• Develop concepts, designs and innovative ideas for digital deliverables within the brand standards that help differentiate ELEVATE in the market
• Inject your strategy and technical and creative skills to the build out and maintenance of our company website using the Joomla! CMS and YooTheme Pro framework.
• Ensure changes and additions are fully cross browser compatible.
• Ensure changes and additions are fully responsive across all devices.
• Provide strong problem-solving skills, including troubleshooting production systems.
• Define, maintain and implement style guides, standards, reusable mark-up and best practices for client-side coding.
• Create, edit or modify YooTheme Pro templates and layouts for a CMS or web development framework.
• Manage programming interaction with PHP, JavaScript and/or a library such as jQuery, YUI or Prototype.
• Explore and introduce new Front End APIs.
• Track and report web and related analytics.

What your qualifications should be

• Advanced knowledge of Joomla! CMS
• Advanced knowledge of Linux web server structure
• Creative and knowledgeable of Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Acrobat, Edge, Publish)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other associated corporate tools
• Good English verbal and written communication, with written and spoken Chinese a plus
• Excellent interpersonal and team skills and an ability to produce to high quality work under demanding timeframes
• Strong initiative and project management skills
• Ability to engage and work constructively with diverse stakeholders across senior leadership, operations, shared services

Additional technical qualifications

The ability to drive UX innovations through your substantial experience and application of:

• HTML/5, PHP, CSS3 & JavaScript
• Debugging code effectively
• CMS Integration
• Performance optimization
• SEO optimization
• An in-depth knowledge of Joomla! and specifically YooTheme Pro framework
• Backend/custom development in PHP
• Understanding and application of UI/UX principles
• General knowledge of working with MySQL
• Linux and Apache knowledge related to web servers
• Proficient in use of cPanel CMS

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related field[s]

Professional Experience

• 7+ years of experience of experience in digital, interactive, mobile, web, responsive, interface, or user experience design using PHP, JavaScript, HTML and CSS
