Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Handling the relevant legal/compliance works of the group companies, including drafting and review of documents, participating in project-related meetings, keeping record of documents, etc.
  • Work with business units to identify the legal/compliance requirements, develop control measures and any regular compliance report as required.
  • Research on regulatory updates and relevant compliance issues.
  • Develop compliance training and reviewing relevant legal documents.
  • Handle all legal-related matters and issues arising from day-to-day business operations, including but not limited to liaising with the SFC or other regulators, and developing internal regulatory training.
  • Communicate with external auditors, legal firms and regulatory institutions in regard to legal/compliance matters.
  • Provide legal services to the company's insurance business unit.

 

Requirements:

  • Degree holder in Law or related disciplines.
  • At least 5+ years' relevant work experience with Legal & Compliance, with supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge in SFC rules and regulations in respect to Type 1, 4, 6 and 9 regulated activities.
  • Experience in the insurance related regulatory framework is advantageous.
  • Proactive, hands-on, detail-oriented, able to handle multiple tasks, and adaptability to a small team environment and high standards for accuracy and quality.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent command of Chinese (Typing & written) & English, with proficiency in Putonghua a plus.
  • Well-versed with the Companies Ordinance, Insurance Companies Ordinance, and good knowledge of insurance related legislations and regulations will be an advantage.
