Job Description

Institutional Investor’s Research division is a leading providing of actionable, data driven insight to firms and individuals in the financial community. We are seeking a seasoned leader to run and grow our pan-Asia business. The ideal candidate will already be familiar with the investment research industry and corporate investor relations practices, and have experience of sales and partnership experience, new product development, and be comfortable operating at a senior level externally.

 

 

Responsibilities

The Head of Asia will:

  • Develop and execute a sales and account strategy that will generate new revenue and sustained, renewable client relationships across Asia in both the Sell Side (Research, Equity Sales, Corporate Access, Trading) and Corporate Investor Relations functions
  • Identify, manage and execute partnerships that help further and extend our penetration and reach in the Asia region (both pan Asia and into identified local markets such as China and Japan)
  • Manage, grow and develop in region staff
  • Propose, develop, and execute/monetize, in collaboration with the Managing Director and global team, new products that align with our brand and value proposition, to both extend existing offerings, and develop new ones.
  • Be accountable for revenue and sales targets and growth in the region via monthly and annual agreed targets
  • Personally deliver on new sales that support the business plan
  • Collaborate with other Institutional Investor professionals in the Asia region to identify and execute any opportunities for scale and leverage across our portfolio
  • A proven track record building and managing a pipeline and book of business of research and consulting engagements.
  • A prior track record either on the sell side, as an Investor Relations officer, or in selling services to these customers
  • Mastery of consultative selling to executives at financial services or corporates
  • A solid track record of launching new products to market
  • Excellent presentation skills and the ability to engage with senior decision makers and executives at large companies.
  • A demonstrable deep understanding and knowledge of the investment research, trading, corporate access, and investor relations businesses, both regionally and globally
  • Demonstrated ability to understand a customer’s business, and seamlessly position our solutions to meet their needs
  • Fluency in English and preferably one of Mandarin, Cantonese or Japanese
