Responsible for execution of sample development, costing and maintaining the development critical path tracker. Work as part of the team to achieve annual Sales Targets by presenting to Debs the very best product that the Far East region has to offer.

Key responsibilities:

• Maintain a fashion awareness particularly of UK trends and directions. Proactively communicate with UK relevant market intelligence from factories regional trade show and regular head office visit for new Tech Pack briefing
• Develop a good understanding of suppliers and open costing and manage the competitive product offering from this Region
• Facilitate on time sample delivery, in the correct aesthetic quality and analyze relevant price quotes
• Works alongside UK Design, Buying teams to understand customer needs and ensure that the supply base is able to deliver product innovation
• Drive adherence to the critical path across suppliers and internal stakeholders. Escalate any nonadherence to the manager
• Ensure Buyer visits to the Country/Region are well prepared and that Buyers/Managers are always impressed with our product/territory offer
• Handover tech pack to suppliers and resolve any development issue
• Explore new suppliers as well as build up better relationships with existing suppliers occasionally
• Ensure all critical paths/sample development trackers are regularly updated from development thru to order confirmation
• Monitor and prepare report of supplier performance in terms of on time sample delivery, design interpretation and hit rate.
• Support new supplier induction & training
• Ensure fabric is up to standard and make sure they have gone through proper testing in conjunction with the fabric tech
• Occasion travel is required

Requirements:

• Bachelor degree holder in any discipline
• Over 6 years related merchandising experience, preferably having worked in a buying office
• Fluent in English and Mandarin
• Good computer knowledge
• Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
• Detail-oriented, responsible, self-motivated, independent and able to deal with multi-tasks under pressure and tight timeline
