As a Product Technologist, you will be working with the product development team and Design team from initial concept to final goods shipment.  You will combine your talent and passion for design to help the team create products that are aesthetical appealing, innovative and functional with a high-performance standard.  Reporting to the Head of Product Development, you will work as a collaborative member of the Design & Development team and coordinate all aspects of the Product development process with all stakeholders.  Below would be you key responsibilities:-

• Work with designer to define aspects of construction and product technological advancement advice
• Liaise with designers, and assist in adapting designs to suit production methods when required
• Research and identify suitable components and materials for the product design.
• Manage critical path of all orders; ensure a smooth progression from initial sampling through to bulk.
• Source and develope requested fabrics with relevant suppliers
• Analyze factory costing sheet for accuracy, correct specification and itemized costing and resolve issues with factory and report the inaccuracies to Head of PD and designer
• Create and update the product specification sheet, QC tech pack and packing instruction for the bag suppliers
• Formalize and manage all component / product performance test plans and reporting to ensure performance requirements are met or exceeded.
• Advise and assist with design and development team for components or products failed during testing until performance requirements are met.
• Manage client’s approval of bulk testing following strict requirements and prepare report such as prop 65.
• Liaise with suppliers with technical supports over development.
• Ensure quality in areas such as strength, durability, colourfastness, and water and chemical resistance
• Assist sales department when required in responding to product queries, including complaints from wholesalers and customers
• Other duties as required 

Successful candidate will possess:-

• A Bachelor Degree in Engineering preferred with min. 5 years in technical bag and travel accessory fields.
• Practical experience in handbag, wallet, travel bags, luggage, garments accessories technician role or similar
• Strong knowledge of product construction, pattern, sewing operations & machines.
• Good knowledge of fabrics, coating and its characteristic
• Understanding all EU & US standard requirement for bags
• Excellent discretion, judgement, tact and diplomacy
• Attention to details, well organize and quick response to problem solving
• Proficient in Microsoft office, Adobe CC suite and PLM system is a must.
• Ability to travel (up to 25% of time)
• Good command of spoken and written English & Mandarin
