Scope:

The Quality Technologist Furniture & Investment Goods is responsible for the quality of all our furniture and investment products such as shelves, pallet carrier and bags. He/she supports the merchandiser in all quality aspects. He/she will control all quality parameter at the actual product and organizes in cooperation with service providers testing and inspections.

Tasks

• Verifying testing quotations from 3rd party testing laboratories.
• Performing of in-house quality assessments on products including report writing.
• Uploading and updating technical documentations on internal database.
• Reviewing and validating of laboratory test reports and inspection reports.
• Evaluating the defects of incoming samples against companies quality requirements.
• Communicating with external service providers.
• Organizing and following up the testing and inspection with test houses and control their performance.
• Supporting the merchandise team and supplier for all kind of technical related questions.
• Working closely with the team of quality technologists, the quality managers of REWE Group and merchandiser to ensure compliance to European safety requirements for our products and their consistent product quality.

• Bachelor degree or above in appropriate technical discipline.
• At least 3 years previous experience in either a European accredited testing lab or associated QA role in European buying office.
• Profound technical experience in furniture and investment goods.
• Good knowledge of European safety standards and European directives for the above mentioned product groups.
• Experience in quality factory audits and production supervision will be an advantage.
• Knowledge in EU chemical requirements and LfGB will be an advantage.
• High social competence in collaborating with superiors, colleagues, external service providers and manufacturer.
• Able to work in cross-cultural environment.
• Good communication skills and good command in English and Mandarin.
• Able to work independently, self-driven.
• Hands-on PC skills in MS office.
• Flexible for extended travels and working hours.
