Role Description

The primary responsibility of the Patient Health & Impact (PHI) Academy APAC Director is to develop new or enhance existing capabilities for Health & Value colleagues at the market level by evaluating the skills, capabilities and experiences necessary, partner with PHI Centers of Excellence as needed and contribute to trainings, coursework and initiatives to, with a focus on the priorities for the market the Regional Lead is aligned with. As the dynamic healthcare environment changes around the world, training programs, workshops and initiatives would enable Country H&V colleges to position Pfizer for success in their respective local markets. PHI Academy APAC Director will report to the PHI Academy Lead.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate and develop strong relationships with PHI International Lead, PHI Regional Lead, PHI LT, and Business leaders to help determine strategic direction of the group as well as determine what capabilities need to be developed or further enhanced based on priorities of that region
  • Support development and maintain CH&V Competency Framework (CF) and associated curriculum (primarily for country H&V colleagues on core capabilities, pricing and access skills, topics and priorities) with partnership with COEs, who will provide subject matter expertise
  • With the support of Regional and local Country Leadership, periodically evaluate the skills against the CH&V Competency Framework (CF), capabilities and experiences that are critical for Health & Value Leads at the market level to successfully support the regional strategy and priorities
  • Develop and execute an annual regional-specific strategy, combining external resources/programs and in-house training/development opportunities, to build and develop necessary capabilities in Country H&V colleagues. Partner with the relevant Country stakeholders and PHI Regional Lead to ensure Country H&V colleagues have the tools and materials to support capability at the local level
  • Collaborate with PHI Centers of Excellence and Methods & Capability Lead to ensure that the local H&V development programs are incorporating cutting edge functional excellence, as appropriate
  • Advise individual Country H&V colleagues on career development: onboarding new colleagues; facilitating a formal functional mentoring scheme (between countries and PHI, and between countries); facilitating regional communities of practice (working with global communities)
  • Facilitate general functional skills training through train-the-trainer and/or online resources
  • Leverage Global Commercial Operations (GCO) and support for content, capability development and training as deemed necessary
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing platforms across the regions
  • Maintain a well-organized and documented library of tools and resources for PHI and Country H&V colleagues to utilize

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is required. Advanced degree in a healthcare, business or economic field preferred (PhD, MD or MBA)
  • Significant experience in a healthcare environment with APAC experience required
  • 3-5 years of prior country experience working in a country health & value role is preferred
  • Prior experience at country/local pharmaceutical business organization is beneficial, but not required
  • Understanding of macro-economic environmental issues shaping the pharmaceutical business environment
  • In-depth understanding of payer dynamics, payer strategy and tactics across multiple regions
  • Experience in developing a customized training session for the region and implementing impactful training materials
  • Project management: experience managing vendors including quality standards and compliance
  • Ability to partner in a complex, matrix environment
  • Ability to work successfully and cooperatively with colleagues across multiple cultures and time-zones
  • Solutions-oriented mindset
  • Strong customer-orientation with an ability to understand business needs and local dynamics, and deliver targeted solutions in a timely manner
  • Regional language preferred but not required
  • Position can be based anywhere within Asia Pacific Region
