Overview

The Cantonese -language copywriting and editing team provides original content and editorial support for Ctrip’s International Business Unit. This position requires a native Cantonese speaker who can write smooth, engaging and creative copy with a careful eye for grammatical correctness. This is a dynamic role, requiring a competent multi-tasker with a broad writing background. Applicants should have a strong grasp on editing as well as a flare for crafting consumer facing copy. Copywriters work with the translation and marketing teams, product managers and others in crafting quality Cantonese copy. In addition, copywriters research and write original travel and PR articles for release in various Cantonese -language media outlets in Mainland China, Hong Kong and elsewhere, as well as maintain and build media contacts.

This is a full-time, office-based position (Mon-Fri, 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.).

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Report to Senior Copywriter/PR Manager
  • Write, edit and proofread content for the Ctrip Hongkong website (page language, flight notes, itineraries, hotel overviews, customer service emails, SEO content, newsletters, banner ads, etc.)
  • Research and write travel-related content for use in various Cantonese -language media outlets
  • Assist in maintaining media contacts and collaborating with them to better craft articles appropriate to their target audience
  • Communicate with translation, product, design and marketing teams to ensure all Cantonese copy is appropriate and correct

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum two years' relevant post-graduation work experience
  • Native Cantonese fluency
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Previous creative writing experience
  • Interest in China and travel

Desirable Qualifications

  • Mandarin skills
  • Internet savvy
  • Travel experience in Mainland China
