Job Description

Job Summary:

The Customer Segment Marketing Supervisor provides industry expertise that bridges customers with UPS.  He/she is an expert in utilizing value-selling tools such as supply chain mapping, value estimators and creating quantified value propositions in engaging existing and potential customers within targeted segments. He/she creates and executes segment marketing plans and sales campaigns to grow volume, revenue, and profit within targeted segments. He/She trains the sales force to ensure the right messages get to the consumer through all communications channels. This position identifies targeted markets, researches buying behaviors, and translates buying behaviors into value propositions for customers. The position reports directly to the Country Marketing Manager.

 

Job Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Build strategies with sales and solutions professionals in engaging business opportunities
  • Visit customers and support the completion of supply chain maps (SCM)
  • Analyze SCMs, identify potential new solutions and quantify value for customers
  • Train sales professionals in UPS value-selling tools           
  • Analyzes and synthesizes market research to identify target sub-segments based on size, opportunity, profit and ability to win business; updates segment factbooks.
  • Uses financial analyses of projected growth in targeted sub-segments, products, or program groups to determine future target markets.
  • Conducts projected growth analyses of target markets to forecast financial success of initiatives and marketing efforts.
  • Develops business case models of targeted markets to support development of new offerings within defined markets.
  • Reviews segment sources (e.g., periodicals, financial reports, field reviews, etc.) to stay current on trends and issues that impact customers.
  • Conducts market research to understand the needs of customers and to define the scope of new offerings.
  • Conducts primary research to understand customer needs and identify opportunities to enhance the value proposition of UPS.
  • Identifies and analyzes segment trends that will significantly impact UPS and/or customers to develop projections of customer needs and potential solutions.
  • Conduct / Engaged in seminars or speaking opportunities to build segment thought leadership
  • Visits customers, talks to association contacts, and challenges team members, peers, and leaders to expand customer knowledge and stay apprised of current customer needs and issues.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum Degree or higher – Marketing, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics or Finance with at least five years relevant working experiences preferred
  • Meticulous with strong attention to details, demonstrate good analytical skills, matured and logical thinking, dependable and requires minimum supervision
  • Self-starter, fast learner, proactive team player and ability to work positively in a challenging environment
  • Competent in Microsoft office Applications
  • Excellence in oral and written communication, leadership and people management skills
