The appointee will be responsible for communication and media matters pertaining to the School of Chinese Medicine (SCM) of Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), for the purpose of promoting its excellence and building its reputation. Major duties will include producing articles for posting on HKBU and SCM websites; producing the biannual SCM newsletter; organising press conferences; making optimum use of the online communication channels to showcase the achievements of SCM; handling media enquiries and requests; and providing assistance to major events organised by SCM. The production of an SCM 20^th anniversary publication is a special task in 2018.

Applicants should possess a recognised degree with at least five years of relevant experience, preferably in publication, copywriting or corporate communication. Strong analytical abilities, excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua), and excellent communication and coordination skills are essential. Relevant administrative experience in the local tertiary education sector, experience in the local media industry and familiarity with desktop publishing are definite advantages. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test.

Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of one year. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to performance review, mutual agreement and availability of funding.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
