The Job

Reporting to Assistant Manager - Heritage Research, you will develop and deliver the heritage storytelling programmes of Tai Kwun.  In this role, you will:

• research on stories about the site and the neighborhood for regular enrichment of the site’s history
• provide support for collaterals, seasonal programmes, regular updates to social media, etc.
• assist to develop, deliver and administer docent training and management programmes
• introduce to visitors the history and stories of the site through guided tour
• work closely with other teams to ensure a pleasant visitor experience can be delivered
• assist to plan and execute stakeholder engagement programmes and other heritage programmes
• develop and maintain an in-house library that keeps the record of history and stories of the site

About You

You should have/be:

• Degree in Heritage, Conservations, Cultural Studies, History or related discipline
• 2-3 years’ experience in event planning and execution, research, customer services, and/or education program. Experience in heritage or cultural fields is an advantage.
• cheerful, helpful and flexible to deal with different people with diversified backgrounds and cultures.
• self-motivated as a team player in a small but passionate and energetic team.
• good communication and interpersonal skills. Able to establish and maintain good relationship with different stakeholders.
• passionate in local culture and heritage.
• proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese.
• able to work on roster, including weekends
• Candidates with less work experience may be considered as Assistant Heritage Officer.
