Responsibilities for Assistant Purchasing Manager

• Responsible for sourcing, product development, price negotiation and order fulfilment of selected product range
• Manage a small team to propose new source, & justify existing / new suppliers’ information, keep doing suppliers comparison
• Work closely with the Sourcing and Product teams in headquarter and external suppliers, provide technical support and assist to make proper purchasing strategy plan and technical procedures to ensure product quality, costing, production and delivery issues
• Ensure that product meets international, legislative and legal standards. Keeps abreast of new and changing legislation
• Define an alternative source approval, and make quick change once having unsolved problem from existing suppliers
• Follow the framework for Inspection and audit process including reports and forms. Ensures the collection and completion of data for reports is accurate, quantifiable and detailed
• Prepare and lead sourcing trips
• Supervise, train and engage the team to carry out daily operations
• Assist in managing all services contracts, agreements and certifications
• Other ad hoc projects as assigned by Management
• Training in Germany headquarter may be provided.

Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities for Assistant Purchasing Manage

• Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain or other related disciplines will be an advantage
• At least 5 years of merchandising and sourcing experience, specialized for European markets
• Experience of sourcing for stationeries and bathroom products is highly preferred
• Knowledge and experience in AQL
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Detail-minded, energetic, independent & with positive working attitude
• Good leadership, problem solving skills, negotiation and time management skills
• Good command of both written and spoken English & Mandarin
• Good in MS Office (Excel / Word / PowerPoint / Outlook)
• Frequent travel to China is required
