About the Position

The position will be responsible for:

• Supervising Daily Operation of the Food section:
• Ensuring the section and staff are suitably equipped with proper resources and
• Methodologies;
• Providing proper technical and management training to staff;
• Ensuring Data Quality and Timely Corrective action being executed;
• Managing special clients and projects assigned by management.
• Prioritising Testing Workorders to fulfil turnaround and client’s requirement:
• Optimising turnaround time for samples whilst ensuring accurate and timely results are achieved and maintained.
• Leading R&D development of the section:
• Continually improving laboratory efficiency and productivity through equipment upgrading, method enhancements and implementation of new technologies.
• Close communicating and working with other sections to ensure efficient running and operation of ALS Hong Kong. This will include optimising staff numbers, cross training staff and minimising maintenance costs.
• Working closely with GM, CS and Lab Managers for strategic planning and development of Hong Kong operation.
• Becoming HOKLAS signatories for relevant testing to ensure quality of Service.

Qualification of Applicant:

• Team Builder;
• Strong communication Skill in written, computer and verbal presentation;
• Solid Technical Experience and Knowledgeable in Food Testing;
• Interested in Developing and Managing Laboratory Industry;
• Sensitive and Understanding to Food Market;
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail;
• Strong Supervisory abilities will be advantage;
• Good Resolution skill and ability will be expected.

Required Qualifications:

• A tertiary B.Sc or above qualification, preferably in Food testing/Chemistry/ Biochemistry;
• Solid Food Testing Experience is Compulsory with > 2 years’ experience in a supervisory role;
• Hold HOKLAS approval signature is an advantage.
