ESTATES OFFICE

The appointee will assist the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Section in providing a healthy and safe environment for teaching and learning as well as advancing the EHS performance of the University. He/She will be involved in coordinating the EHS programmes particularly in laboratory safety and fostering safety culture among the University community members. He/She will mainly be responsible for implementing action plans relating to laboratory and radiation safety, dangerous goods and chemicals management, and assist in other routine activities including campus health and safety, legislative compliance, environmental promotion and management, risk assessment and emergency response.

Applicants should possess a recognised degree in Science with formal education in Environmental Health and Safety and at least six years of relevant post-qualification experience including solid experience in laboratory safety. Possession of a valid Registered Safety Officer qualification is a definite advantage. Applicants should also have good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, good interpersonal and communication skills and proficiency in computing applications. They should be self-motivated and detail-oriented. Ability to plan, organise, and execute as well as to deliver work according to timeline and prioritisation is also essential. Applicants with less experience will be considered for the post of Officer.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
