Job Description

          Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organisation:

  • To drive a quality, brand building distribution network that is capable of generating sales revenues and contribution to meet company business goals

     Key Responsibilities:

  • To deliver the sales target and profit expectations from the distributor base through close management of buys, follow up and co-ordination of year end shipments, as well as the implementation of their business plans

  • To lead the development of individual Distributor markets in line with the strategic branding and market development objectives of the Rockport organization through your involvement in the development of their business plans.

  • To ensure the Rockport brand “shows up” in territory through well managed execution of promotions and retail door development

  • Be a trusted consultant, trainer and business partner to the Distributor – managing and driving business improvement plans related to the introduction and execution of best practice

  • Review and agree contract renewal commitments for Distributors under your leadership

  • Collaborate with “in-country” sales teams to provide an effective seasonal product offer with the right retail environment for different business channels

  • Identify alternative, viable partners for each distributor market to challenge the incumbent

     Authorities:

  • To evaluate and assess existing distribution partners and propose new alternatives

  • To review existing performance across all distributors and set targets for improvement

     Key Relationships:

  • Brand Managers of our Distribution partners

  • Head of Marketing, Rockport International Business

  • Head of Product Merchandising, Rockport International Business

  • Global Retail Development

  • Accounts Receivable

  • Group Legal (for contract negotiation and extensions)

  • Supply Chain Management

     Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Advanced skills on the MS Office Suite – particularly Excel and Powerpoint

  • Negotiation – for contract, buy volumes etc.

  • Presentation – for Sales launch meetings, training delivery etc.

  • Consulting – for best practice in retailing, product planning and merchandising

     Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • University degree and above

  • 8-10 years of professional sales management experience
