Job Description
Job Responsibilities:
Operation and Procedure
- Responsible for reinsurance bordereau update
- Responsible for revenue recognition
- Responsible for expenses amortization (prepare prepayment schedule)
- Responsible for asset register (prepare fixed asset register & depreciation)
- Responsible for accounts receivable and payables
- Reconcile system data interface (premium, commission, claims paid & reserves, treaty etc.) and follow up variance
- Assist A/C Receipt - system approval and sign manual receipt
- Review documents for month-end closing such as superworksheet, debtors' control, bank reconciliation etc.
Treaty
- Responsible for monthly treaty calculation
- Prepare monthly reinsurers’ account due schedule
- Prepare quarterly statement of accounts to reinsurers' and reconcile the account with reinsurers’ statement
- Prepare quarterly treaty analysis for treaty renewal
- Assist in preparing treaty agreement (Taiping and AR Consultant) and filing
Investment
- Prepare equities trading instruction form and journal entries
- Prepare monthly investment report
Reporting
- Monthly Accounts: Prepare Management Accounts for internal use, Management Accounts on ICO basis, Solvency Margin and Local Assets calculations, Statement of Assets and Liabilities
- Quarterly Accounts: Prepare Statutory Return
- Yearly Accounts: Prepare Statutory Return including Hong Kong General Business Return and relevant supplementary information
- Assist with basic enquiries regarding accounting matters by regulators
- Assist with analysis (as required)
Internal and Year-end Audit
- Preform balance sheet verification before audit commenced
- Assist with auditor's enquiries during year-end on-site audit
System Implementation & Enhancement
- Enhance/Update Chart of Accounts
- Provide data flow to System Engineer for accounting module enhancements
- Provide mapping for different class of insurance product and perform UAT (if required)
Ad Hoc Projects
- Assist with RBC QIS reporting
- Assist with the preparation of budgets and reforecasts
Job Requirements:
- Diploma or above in Finance/ Accounting with recognized professional accounting qualifications would be an advantage
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in general insurance accounting
- Familiar with the accounting standards and tax regulations
- Proficiency in MS Excel and Word
- Good command of both written and spoken English and Cantonese
- Responsible, meticulous and able to work under pressure
