Job Description

As a professional training and consultancy arm of the Welfare Council, the Training Institute covers planning and execution of all training activities for staff as well as a self-financed training and consulting unit.

Being the Head of the Training Institute, the suitable candidate will lead on the development and delivery of organizational learning and staff development strategy aligned to strategic priorities, one of which will be managing a Servanthood Development Leadership Program. The Head will also drive the Institute for creating social impact with sound financial management through designing, developing and delivering a range of integrated learning and development solutions and business consultancy services to other NGOs, schools and private companies.  We now invite passionate, result-driven and creative person to join us.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. To oversee and supervise both the staff development and training as well as the consultancy functions of the Training Institute;
  2. To design and deliver a measurable people development strategy, ensuring that this complement with the Welfare Council’s strategic plans;
  3. To develop and implement learning and development related plans and work closely with senior management to identify the training needs of service teams;
  4. To work in conjunction with top management, identify critical capabilities, evaluate operational need and identify planned solution in relation to talent development;
  5. To work with partners and develop appropriate training programs for the Servanthood Leadership Development Center;
  6. To design, develop and deliver a range of integrated learning and development solutions and business consultancy services to NGOs, schools and private companies;
  7. To manage learning and development resources including the training budget to ensure maximum effectiveness of expenditure and return on investment.

 

Requirements:

  • Degree holder or above in Social Work, Training and Development, Business, Psychology, Public Administration or any related disciplines;
  • Preferably 10 years’ solid experience in Training and Development with 3 years in managerial level. Working experience in social service organizations and / or management coaching in NGOs will be an advantage;
  • Experiences in Servanthood Leadership Training and succession planning are preferred;
  • Proven track record in creative and constructive thinking with high level of solution findings and negotiation skills;
  • Dynamic, independent, efficient and responsive with good interpersonal, social and team work skills and persistence to work under pressure;
  • Excellent in written and spoken English and Chinese languages.

Two-year contract will be offered as a start and may change to Permanent status subject to satisfactory performance during contract period.
