Job Description

Reporting to the Head of HR Department in APAC, this is a regional, strategic and managerial role to work closely with business units and take a lead role in development and implementation of HR projects.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement HR strategies for APAC to help business development; set up, modify and update the HR related policies and procedures to meet the varied market trends and business needs across APAC countries; guide and coach management to apply appropriate company policies & procedures, and comply with local labor laws, so as to be in line with P-S-P and Purple Promise.
  • Design, plan and implement HR short-term and long-term planning and actions; provide and communicate HR professional recommendations and solutions for management; initiate and execute effective HR programs for recruitment; ensure that C&B programs comply with different legal and market requirements across countries; identify training needs to develop training programs to attract and retain talents, and enhance departmental productivity and operational efficiency.
  • Identify and define the business needs to recruit qualified employees; design and create the career advancement programs to maintain equitable promotion decisions so as to motivate and retain talented employees to help company long-term development.
  • Select, train, develop, motivate and monitor performance of direct reports, including non-managerial staff, and develop succession plans in order to achieve functional and departmental objectives within People-Service-Profit guidelines and Purple Promise Spirit.
  • Keep close and effective communication with the management team, the employees and the regional departments in APAC to ensure accurate and efficient company information delivery and harmony of working environment; maintain good business connections with service providers to negotiate cost-effective deals for company.
  • Provide, guide and lead management and local HR to handle employee dispute cases in a manner based on company policies and procedures, related labor laws and market practices in APAC countries so as to enhance employee relations.
  • Provide, analyze and interpret HR data, policies and procedures to provide to management information on turnover, headcount, compensation, organizational statistics, etc., so as to facilitate planning and decision-making; complete various weekly, monthly, annual and ad-hoc reports as required.

 

 Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher
  • At least 5 years of solid experience in HR functions, with a proven track record on HR projects and operation; people management experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of international freight forwarding industry is preferred
  • High sense of accountability and commitment
  • Good analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Team work, leadership and communication skills
  • High proficiency in MS Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint, etc.
  • Good command of both spoken and written English and Mandarin Chinese; ability in local language would be a plus.
