Job Description

Job Purpose

You  will involve working with the business to identify and design relevant programmes and learning solutions to meet our business development objectives and the needs of individuals, enabling our people to consistently deliver a truly global experience for our customers and partners.

You will spend the majority of your time understanding and interpreting needs, shaping, developing and designing solutions which will include all blends of learning such as e learning, collaborative workshops and face to face development to ensure high level, consistent learning and development solutions and delivery.

You will work in an environment where you will regularly work face to face with specified functions across the business. You will enjoy using your strong communication and relationship building skills to work as a valued learning partner with the business to determine the shape of learning interventions. You will also need to have a global mind set with some of your client groups as we have customers who can be worldwide and other Learning teams who we can take and apply learning solutions to be global.

 

Accountabilities and Activities:

  • Agree objectives with the People Director HK and IM Leadership, Talent & Resourcing Director and ensure these are aligned with HK 3-5 year vision/strategy in Insurance businesses.
  • Freedom to use judgement and learning expertise to make decisions and recommendations based on own experience, company values and factual information as appropriate to add value.
  • Use a high degree of business and commercial knowledge in order to challenge, influence and support business managers whilst taking a broad view of organisational issues.
  • Freedom to voice ideas, make recommendations for change and influence their customers. Ability to recognise business wide implications of the decision making process relating to Learning.
  • Good commercial awareness along with good problem solving ability is required to influence wider People decisions that positively impact the business.
  • Evaluates situations rationally and takes decisions based upon analysis rather than emotions. 
  • Would be expected to understand complex situations across the relevant business area - prepared to challenge propositions and test even basic assumptions in pursuit of understanding.
  •  Will consider factual information, employment legislation and company mission and values when balancing the needs of the customer and making decisions that minimise the business exposure.
  • A strong team player, delivering strongly whilst communicating effectively with the wider People functions and the business.
  • Resilient, able to deal with problems and ‘knock backs’ and manage difficult situations firmly and sensitively.
  • Be accountable and take ownershipfor ensuring you are familiar with all regulatory requirements that fall within the remit of your role and comply with them at all times. Seek guidance if you need support understanding your regulatory requirements. Notify, without delay, any potential or actual breach of regulation.
  • Maintain governance and control requirements, ensuring all internal governance requirements are met, including full compliance with all policies, audit actions, monitoring actions and risk appetite.
