This is a senior position, requiring the appointee to play a key role providing economic advice to both the Chamber and the business community.

Responsibilities

• Undertake original business-oriented economic research, on both macro (regional) and micro (major business sectors) scales, with emphasis on Hong Kong and Mainland economic relationship with and impact on Hong Kong.
• Author major economic and policy submissions to the HKSAR Government as well as contribute timely consultation inputs.
• Act as an influential economic voice on behalf of the Chamber and the business community via written articles, press statements, speaking engagements and media interviews.
• Participate in committee work and provide advice on policy issues.
  Develop speeches and written pieces for Chamber leadership.

Qualifications

• Top notch professional with strong economics background, with proven record of industry achievements. Substantial knowledge of the economic and political environment in Hong Kong and Mainland China is required. Only candidates with at least 9 years of relevant experience should apply.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese. Capable of communicating with Cantonese speakers is preferred.
• Person with an outgoing personality and an ability to liaise with members ranging from multinationals to SMEs. Personal traits preferred include a high degree of integrity and independence, flexibility, leadership, team spirit and interpersonal skills.
