Job Purpose:

To research, develop and produce desirable and commercially viable product for the Next brand within the required time scale, quality standard and specification, using the NS sourcing strategy to ensure sampling meets the required standard whilst minimizing the costs in time and money for NS and the supplier.

Job Role:

• Identify current and future trends and work with Merchandising, fabric sourcing and supplier teams to source suitable design components. Identify and as necessary, design into new development opportunities in the factories and potentialize for Next.
• Support the design & development of product which meets the requirements of the Next brand, working closely with the Merchandising Manager and UK sales and design teams. Ensure the correct fabric and trims are ordered and that briefs are clearly and promptly communicated to the supply base, missing or incorrect information to be identified, the appropriate team advised and corrective action taken immediately.
• Strong fashion awareness, stay updated with UK fashion trends and product directions within Next. This will involve regular travel to the UK (and inspirational travel elsewhere) and constant communications with UK Buying and Design teams.
• Achieve sales and margin targets - assist sales teams to establish Product & Sourcing strategies to achieve the sales and margin target, and monitor status of sales and margin against the budget on a continual basis and react as necessary.
• Perform duties as required by the company and according to company policy, to support the growth and prosperity of the business, and according to the company needs.

Job Requirements:

• More than 3 years Woven Product Development experiences on Garment Product. Buying office background or work for a brand will be preferred.
• Bachelor degree or above with Fashion Design or Textile relevant major.
• Familiar with woven product development and with technical knowledge.
• Passion on product development with fashion eyes on new items and trends.
• Good communication skills to work with all internal colleagues, suppliers and customers.
• Excellent on oral and written English communication, good team worker.
