Job Description
Duties
Responsible for assisting the Director, ITSC, for managing the day-to-day operations of the Information Technology Services Centre (ITSC): (i) managing and delivering infrastructure ensuring sound architecture, reliability, technology and function across network, servers, storage, database, application platform and end user equipment; (ii) providing end user help desk and support services on all IT services; (iii) providing on-call support to ensure systems availability in accordance to target service level; (iv) directing, implementing and overseeing standard IT practices, which include: Backups, Information Security Safeguards, System Monitoring, Technical Upgrades and Enhancements; (v) liaising with vendors to deliver various IT projects; and (vi) undertaking such other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Appointment Criteria
Applicants should have: (i) a recognised postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related disciplines; (ii) at least 7 years’ relevant experience, preferably in a similar position in local/overseas higher education institutions; (iii) sound technical background, a generalist of IT technologies and also a specialist on core technologies; (iv) strong team and partner management; (v) good communication and problem solving skills; and (vi) a good command of spoken and written English and Chinese.
