Job Description

You are an experienced social innovation program designer, trainer and facilitator who can work with diverse groups to create innovative results

 

Start date: January

Location: The main location for this position is Hong Kong with potential additional programme delivery in mainland China and other areas in the world.

Position type:  full-time team member 

 

What you would DO:

You will manage and deliver innovative trainings, workshops, coaching sessions, working with our partners to empower the program participants to create new ideas and make them happen.  The primary role will be as the lead of a major fellowship programme in partnership with one of the leading social work institutions in Hong Kong. You will act as coach, mentor and guide for social work change makers to design and implement their intrapreneurial ideas and ventures, and liaise with their respective organisations.

In addition, as part of other programs, you will facilitate workshops and trainings that motivate and inspire groups of participants and make sure they co-create and implement relevant solutions OR that will guide individual social entrepreneurs through their start-up phase.

You will be able to draw from the extensive method and tool sets for workshop facilitation existing within the DO School and will adapt them to the specific local and program context for each program.

The role requires flexibility and agility in your work style as you will be working on various programs with different partners at the same time. This also means you need to be a good communicator who is driven by a passion for social innovation. You will need to be a quick learner who is motivated to build your existing skillset.

  

Your profile:

  • You are entrepreneurially minded, ready to take on a leadership role and excel in demanding environments and you are willing to relocate if it is necessary.
  • You have excellent contextual knowledge and experience about social service sector in Hong Kong and existing exposure to and/or the ability to rapidly learn about other business sectors
  • You bring solid facilitation experience based on several years of training and facilitation activities
  • Ideally you have coaching or mentoring experience in supporting individuals to successfully implement ideas
  • You must have the right to work in Hong Kong, with Cantonese as your mother tongue and fluent English.
  • You are familiar with experiential teaching / innovation methods like Design Thinking or others and know how to adapt these methods for social innovation purposes
  • You enjoy managing projects and can keep track of timing and budgets
  • You have great communication skills that allow you to work with our partners and program participants alike
  • You are a team player - co-creation is key for us!
