DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION STUDIES

The appointee is expected to assist in a pilot research project on knowledge structure of reading skills in the context of student adaptive learning for English language for primary schools to enhance learning and teaching. Major duties include: (a) assisting in developing the research framework; (b) reviewing literature as directed by the Principal Investigator (PI); (c) liaison with the external bodies; (d) writing research reports; and (e) performing any other duties prescribed by the Principal Investigator.

Applicants should possess an MPhil degree in English language education or equivalent with at least four years of relevant experience, or a PhD degree. Incumbents should have good inter-personal and communication skills; be patient and willing to work with the external bodies. Strong research and writing skills are required. Experience in doing research projects, some knowledge in IT and holding a relevant PhD degree would be advantageous. The appointee with a PhD degree will be considered for the post title of Post-doctoral Research Fellow.

Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of one year commencing December 2017 or as soon as possible.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
