Job Description

I. Introduction

You will oversee the development of AEL’s Waste to Energy Solution. In particular, you will be focused on initiating the project and ensuring coordination between the Company's Waste Recycling Teams, Zhuhai Engineering Team and Research Partners to ensure the targets of the project are delivered on time and at quality levels expected by the Company's management. Prior working knowledge of waste recycling is not necessary, but you will be expected to acquire this knowledge quickly and independently.

The position also requires the ability to communicate clearly, concisely and candidly with other team members in spoken and written English and in spoken Mandarin or Cantonese. We are looking for candidates who are motivated, reliable, have excellent attention to detail and are excited about developing new products and technologies with the potential to affect global climate change and renewal energy development.

 

II. Job Summary

Ensures the highest standards of environmental safety and operational excellence by effectively managing the day-to-day operations, ongoing development of the assigned plants, and maintains cost management within budget.

 

III. Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Plant Operation

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.

  • Ensures smooth operation of site
  • Minimizes handling and operational costs.
  • Continually works to improve capacity and power generation
  • Ongoing streamline operational improvement.
  • Acts as a liaison, where necessary, for stakeholder relationships (Government, Investor, Supplier and research/technology partner)
  • Complies with and ensures adherence to AEL and relevant standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations.
  • Submits reasonable budget information and analyses data versus year-to-date data and prior year budget.
  • Assists in creating a positive team-oriented environment through employee development and motivation.
  • Ensures the cleanliness and maintenance of the physical property of the site through inspections and preventive maintenance programs with supervisors/employees.
  • Oversees personnel needs of the site including selecting, coaching, and training employees and evaluating employee performance. Provides input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions.
  • Conducts and/or attends and contributes to periodic safety meetings.
  • Provides training and presentations as needed in a positive and professional manner.
  • Updates and submits required reports in a timely manner.

 

IV. Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Process Improvement  

  • WRU Manager performs and/or assists in various phases of process improvement activities.
  • Lead key projects with WRU team to support business goals.
  • Implement Industry 4.0 into our plants
  • WRU Manager will research for scientific evidence through a variety of resources, including internet to support the Waste Recycling Solution
  • Recommendations to the management in relation to new technology trends and market situations.
  • Determine and execute improved technologies used by suppliers, competitors and customers.
  • Establish project goals and priorities by collaborating with Headquarter and ZAEL subsidies.
  • Document all phases of process improvement.
  • Will assist in creating Knowledge Database, to store all data acquire from the operation and research findings.
  • Must demonstrate organization and good housekeeping habits.
  • Coordinate with concerned departments to update the product range with the developed
  • Submit periodical reports to management showing the status of process improvement progress.

 

V. Supervisory Responsibilities
The highest level of supervisory skills required in this job is the management of supervisory employees. This includes:

  • Direct supervision of 5 full-time engineers in Hong Kong
  • Direct supervision of 5 full-time engineers and employees in Zhuhai.

 

VI. Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.

A. Education and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering.
  • Experience: 7 years of previous work experience (in addition to education requirement).

B. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Leadership and Managerial skills.
  • Strong Problem Solving Skills
