The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology is a leading research university in Asia committed to excellence in education and research. The Information Systems Office is responsible for the development, support, and operation of the administrative systems serving the University, covering such areas as finance, human resources, procurement, estates management, admissions, student registration/records, research and a wide spectrum of student services.  A major part of these systems/services is served by the Oracle PeopleSoft ERP package, and in-house developed systems to be developed mainly using the Java Spring development platform.

The Office is seeking high caliber candidates to support the systems/services that are in place, as well as to develop/implement new system modules/functions that are essential for the operation of the University.

The appointee will join the Application Development and Support team for developing, testing and supporting business systems in the above-mentioned administrative areas.

Applicants should have a recognized degree or higher diploma in computer science or a related discipline, with 2-5 years of relevant working experience preferred. Applicants should have experience in developing websites using tools like Drupal, Liferay, etc. and/or implementing Document Management Systems like OpenText, Documentum, FileNet, OnBase, Sharepoint, etc. and/or implementing Business Intelligence / Data Warehousing tools.  The ideal candidates should be willing to learn and have a strong sense of responsibility. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided.  A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
