Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to Senior IT Manager, the calibre will be based in HK (Continent Office in APAC) to deliver efficient customer-oriented application and infrastructure services that creates a positive business impact by maximizing the effective use of technology systems in the Continent Office. The major responsibility of technical support services include local area network, associated peripherals, cabling, operating/ business application software, Wide Area VPN and Internet connectivity.

  

EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS

  • Customers, Partners, Vendors: Assist Senior IT Manager in providing technical support to associates in the Continent Office based in HK and overseas. Advise associates on best practices and provide local customized documentation as needed.  Respond to problems and enhancement requests in a timely manner. Track problems and keep associates informed about the progress and status of issues. Effectively collaborate with people at all levels across functions in a diverse environment.
  • Business/ Technical Knowledge: Understand business needs, IT-related methodologies, strategies and upcoming projects in the Continent Office. Understand IT technology standards, platforms and direction. Stay updated on technology trends and systems development methods and tools available in the markets.
  • Support: Proactively and reactively upkeep the health and integrity of the organization’s IT infrastructure, including but not limited to email, desktop, laptops, servers, LAN infrastructure and operating system software.
  • Problem Solving: Ensure IT related matters/ concerns are accurately reported, routed, tracked and resolved effectively and efficiently. Occasional on-call support outside office hours is expected to facilitate Executives on travels.
  • Operations: Monitor computer and network operations performing onsite and offsite backup/recovery functions and maintaining disaster recovery plans.
  • Technology Standards: Ensure current systems are in compliance with organizational standards.
  • Ongoing Configuration Maintenance: Create disk images. Perform maintenance that eliminates security risks, assures appropriate local area network system access and enables dissemination of duties.
  • Policy and Procedures: Well-versed in company policies and IT standard operating procedures (SOPs) and other related materials. Communicate and enforce IT policies to protect company hardware, software and other resources.
  • Backup: Provide shared responsibility for day-to-day backup services. 

 

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Minimum 2-year degree in relevant discipline from an accredited college/ business/ technical school or equivalent.
  • At least 3 - 5 years’ solid working experience in IT. Experience in hospitality is beneficial.
  • Well-organized with ability to multitask.
  • Proactive, self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • A good team player with positive attitude and strong ownership.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua).
  • Proficiency in MS Office and industry specific software.
