Job Description

 OVERVIEW
The APAC Lead of Infrastructure is a senior position reporting to the Group Head of Infrastructure and is responsible for leading the IT Infrastructure teams in APAC as well as extended infrastructure suppliers globally. The Infrastructure team are a dynamic, global team designing, procuring, delivering and supporting the production computer infrastructure to meet the substantial growth needs of Santa Fe’s business. The team is also essential in our deployment of all new equipment and upgrades to hardware and software.

 

In this role, you will be responsible for helping to define how our business purchases, supports, sunsets, and renews, our production computer systems. Along with this responsibility, you will oversee people management, work delivery, project management, product definition, and overall team health and efficiency. Successful candidates will possess infrastructure based management & project management delivery experience with proven ability to motivate & build teams that are innovative, delivery focused, and highly effective.


Key Requirements:
• Ideally an BSc in Computer Science or related field;
• 5+years of managing IT teams through large-scale growth and change;
• 5+ years’ deployment, diagnosis, and management experience on Linux/Unix platforms at 5k-100k server scale;
• 5+ years working with development/engineering groups in configuring applications from systems engineering perspective;
• Experience building distributed, fault tolerant services;
• Passion for building long term repeatable solutions.


Infrastructures Skills required:
• On premise, Cloud Computing, Data and Voice Telecommunications, Switching, Routing, WAN and LAN, Unified Communications, Network Architecture & Design, Network Security and Firewalls, Virtualization, SAN Storage, Disaster Recovery.
• Cisco IOS, Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop, CommVault Microsoft Technologies (Exchange, AD, Windows Server etc.), SharePoint Online, Skype for Business, Office 365, Veeam, VMware.


Specific experience desired:
• Long-term strategic responsibility for on premise Infrastructure and Cloud Computing;
• Highly detail oriented leader who thrives on process engineering and leading change;
• Track record of managing team(s) who deliver technically demanding cross-organizational projects;
• Experience developing a Service Ownership culture in revenue generating support team;
• Lives for the whiteboard. Block diagrams, process development, and turning those whiteboard photos into documented development plans are a must;
• Alignment of Infrastructure strategy and planning with the company's business goals;
• Build scalable, reliable, and efficient mechanisms required to meet our rapidly increasing demand for computing resources;
• Ensure that projects do not duplicate functionality, diverge from each other, or diverge from business and Infrastructure strategies;
• Manage team growth, coach individual team members, effectively manage performance, and clearly articulate team strategy to management chain;
• Provide effective strategy for data collection, establish rational metrics and create a plan to analyze and report on relevant business drivers and KPIs;
• Lead project scoping, roadmap, and architecture discussions with business stakeholders and Infrastructure leadership;
• Experience in disaster recovery systems, strategy, and delivery;
• Efficient in Unified communications including integration into existing and future technologies;
• Work closely with the Sourcing, Capacity Strategy, Data Center Engineering, TPM, Site Reliability, and other Compute peers to deliver sustainable lifecycle deployment and management strategy across infrastructure products & features;
• Promoting a metrics-based software development culture of quality, collaboration, rapid delivery;
• Software development of Infrastructure Tools is a big plus;
• Experience with Agile Development Methodologies;
• Leadership experience with cultural transformation;
• Financial acumen;
• Great communication skills, both verbal and written;
• Mentoring team members to build core competencies in architecture, standards development, and recommended practices;
• Developing the team continuously and when appropriate looking to strengthen or fill gaps in core competencies with additional support.
