Job Description
Reports to: General Manager, Asia Operations
Location: Tsim Sha Tsui (with frequent travel to China)
Key Tasks
The Program Manager is responsible for the management and development of a team of 7+ staff members based in Hong Kong and Shenzhen. The Program Manager, with support from the General Manager, Asia Operations and others members of the Senior Leadership Team, is responsible for the development, management and implementation of the ICTI CARE audit program. The Program Manager is also responsible for development of the lCTI CARE audit checklist, a core element of the overall program, ensuring that the audit continues to meet the needs of stakeholders including Buyers and Factories globally. A core objective of the Program Monitoring & Development team is to ensure factory management understands the program requirements and are supported through training and other engagement methods to meet and sustain standards at their factory. Development and deployment of the engagement strategy with factories is a key responsibility of this role.
Job Description
- Lead the Program Monitoring & Development team in the development, management and implementation of the ICTI CARE audit program
- Take lead in development, design and continuous improvement of the audit checklist and factory assessments, ensuring both continue to evolve to meet industry needs and expectations
- Monitor the quality and integrity of the audit program by monitoring and coaching internal & external audit teams, as well as working closely with the Head of the Integrity & Sustainability Team
- Ensure proactive and ongoing communication with factories.
- Establish the training strategy for factories and audit firms in China and South-East Asia region, and support its effective implementation
- Work closely with Capacity Building Team to support new Capacity Building programs where needed
- Manage effectively multiple projects including creating proposals, finding solutions, managing resources and timescales to ensure the projects are on track and the goals are achieved
- Take lead in technical investigations in response to NGO enquiries
Knowledge/Skills
- At least 5 year solid experience in Social Responsibility programs, preferably in the Toys, Electronics or other consumer goods manufacturing industry
- Knowledge in the social responsibility regulations globally, particularly in China
- Experience in working with audit firms on factory audit programs
- Strong technical problem-solving skills
- Excellent people management & development skills
- Good communication and presentation skills
- High levels of integrity and ethics
- Confident in working with staff at all levels in complex environments
- Excellent English report writing & reading skills
- Fluent in Mandarin & Cantonese and strong command of English
- Weekly travel to Shenzhen office
- Occasional travel to South-East Asian Countries
