We are seeking for Merchandiser to join our Toys team. This is a great opportunity for you to support the buying group to develop fashionable, stylish and quality products at the cost effective way with the right suppliers.

Responsibilities:

• Provide market intelligence to buyers and line manager
• Work closely with the Design & Buying teams to develop product with the right quality and right price following through the Critical Path Milestones
• Identify suitable suppliers and recommend to Strategy Planning team for inclusive in vendor pool
• Manage new supplier on boarding, including business introduction, payment terms negotiations, and other terms and conditions
• Monitor the development from sampling and approval through to production handover
• Monitor supplier performance and make improvement recommendations
• Work with buyers on buying trips
• Provide line manager with potential savings on new initiatives such as technologies and product development
• Ensure all production and order related information (forecasts, orders etc.) for the entire category is on hand and up to date
• Resolve production issues in conjunction with each Suppliers, Logistics and Product Development team
• Close monitoring on production schedule to ensure timely delivery
• Work closely with Quality team to ensure the production quality is up to standard
• In partnership with Strategic Planning team to ensure any sourcing and packaging pools are maintained accurately and in a timely manner
• Identify and eliminate any excessive packaging components during the production process
• Ensure logistical flows between raw material suppliers & suppliers are via the agreed production planning process
• Handle multiple suppliers and maintain good relationship
• Observe and propose manufacturing best practises via pooling knowledge gained from different manufacturers

Requirements:

• Diploma or above in Merchandising or relevant disciplines
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a sourcing or manufacturing environment with knowledge of toys products and their related technical requirements
• Possess experience in working with overseas buyers independently
• Strong experience in influencing and negotiating with suppliers
• Proficiency in written & spoken English, Mandarin and Cantonese
• Well-versed in using Microsoft applications including Excel, Word Processing and Power Point
• Occasional travel may be required
• Immediate available is preferred
