Overview

This senior role will not only report directly and daily to the Group’s Founder & CEO, but will need to work in close partnership with her and alongside the Head of Sales, Greater China in a dynamic start-up style environment in order to succeed.

Bloom & Grow is not a traditional hierarchical style organisation and as such this role presents an amazing opportunity to work closely with our successful and highly entrepreneurial Founder & CEO, and alongside our Executive Leadership team, for the right personality.

You will be responsible for leading, inspiring and managing an existing Greater China marketing team (based in Hong Kong and Shanghai) plus our agency relationships, to develop and implement the company’s marketing strategies, communications and digital marketing activities - both external and internal - required to consistently achieve our business objectives across China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.

 

Role & Responsibilities

  1. Work flexibly and entrepreneurially, whilst partnering closely with the Head of Sales, Greater China, the Founder & CEO, and the Executive Management Team.
  2. Develop detailed marketing strategies, objectives, plans and budgets to consistently achieve the business’ objectives in Greater China.
  3. Develop and implement a marketing budget for each Greater China region - monitoring spending and managing budget and marketing activities to ensure delivery of business and sales objectives.
  4. Develop a comprehensive marketing plan for each country and ensure it is implemented effectively within budget by the marketing team.
  5. Oversee, manage and support marketing staff in Hong Kong and China offices to ensure marketing objectives are achieved.
  6. Liaise directly with key trade customers to maximise brand awareness and consumer sales.
  7. Liaise with brand owners to ensure their branding is communicated correctly and effectively across all Greater China channels and platforms.
  8. Professionally liaise with external PR, digital and social media agencies.
  9. Monitor and evaluate market trends, competitor activity and industry news.

 

Job Requirements

  2. You will be a degree holder or above in marketing or a related discipline.
  3. You will have 10+ years all-round marketing experience, predominantly gained in Greater China.
  4. Experience working in a startup environment would be a strong advantage.
  5. Deep experience with digital and retail / B2B marketing practices in Greater China, including digital marketing, Chinese social media, online marketplaces and cross-border ecommerce.
  6. Strong leadership skills, team coaching and a strategic mindset.
  7. Excellent spoken and written English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
  8. Evidence of a commitment to continuous personal and professional development, and leading a healthy and interesting lifestyle.
  9. A proactive, flexible and dynamic approach to problem solving and positive thinking.
  10. Frequent business travel around Greater China.
